Jedna nedelja, jedan kroj / One week, one pattern

Huuuh, this week has been so intense! It started like any other week, but pretty soon turned into a dynamic struggle with time and a battle for a few hours of sleep. Luckily it's over, so I can rest a bit.
As I've announced already, this week I've taken the challenge One week, one pattern, organized by Tilly.

I chose to wear shirts made using the BWOF 1/2008, #108 pattern. These are the variations of the named pattern, that I sewed over the years. You can see the alteration instructions for some of the shown models here.
Due to the very demanding rhythm I was at, I haven't managed to snap some photos, so you'll just have to take my word on it that I really wore these blouses. I'm using the photos I took earlier, but have on mind that I styled the blouses quite differently than shown on the pics.

Subota, 24. Mart / Satutrday, March 24th

Nedelja, 25. Mart / Sunday, March 25th

Ponedeljak, 26. Mart / Monday, March 26th

Utorak, 27. Mart / Tuesday, March 27th

Sreda, 28. Mart / Wednesday, March 28th

Četvrtak, 29. Mart / Thursday, March 29th

Petak, 30. Mart / Friday, March 30th

No, to nije kompletan arsenal košulja... ;-)

And finally, here's an interesting photo. Here's how my door look after a lot of ironing is done. There are 13 shirts on hangers, only 1 not being made by me, and 8 of those are made using my favorite pattern. However, this is not the complete shirts arsenal... ;-)

Blog nagrade / Blog awards

When one postpones to finish a certain job he / she has (even though the job itself is very flattering and fun to do), then the work accumulates too much, and one has no other option than to force him / her self to finish what he / she needed to do looong time ago....
In my case, it is postponing to answer to many blog awards I've gotten in the past few months. I'm risking of sounding as if I'm bragging too much now, due to the number of the blog awards, but please take into account the fact that I got some of these last year. I apologize to all the bloggers whose compliments I've neglected for so long (though I did thank each of them on their blogs), and I'll name them all in this post (hopefully, I haven't forgotten any of you!).

Dragica passed me last year the award "Блог которы дарит улыбку", which can be translated as "The blog that makes you smile".

Od Miki sam dobila čak dve nagrade.

Miki passed me these two awards.

A od Odri, autorke bloga Sew Twardy stiže nagrada "Svestran bloger".

And Audrey of Sew Twardy have passed me "The Versatile Blogger" award.

Today Milka has challenged me with an interesting challenge.

I have to name 3 blogger friends. Hmm, I'll name 15 of them (the list is on the bottom of the post), and hopefully redeem myself this way.

Treba da navedem 3 alata koje najviše volim. To je lako:

I have to name 3 of my favorite tools. That's easy:

My Višnja...  I love my sewing machine more than some people! We've been together for 33 years, and we've been hanging around together for the last 17 years. Ain't that a lot or what? Whenever I'm lonely, angry, happy, nervous or in a great mood, she's right beside me. I've been thinking of replacing her with a new, modern model, but I realized I would miss her too much...

The cutting mat I bought 2 years ago. Before that, I was sneaking other people's blogs for months and listed all the advantages of this board. Then I realized I couldn't live another day without it :). I use it for cutting, drawing, taking photos, measuring and weighing.

Pins. What a revelation! When I first started to sew, I hand basted everything, which was very painful and boring to me. A few years ago I somehow figured it out I could pin the fabric instead of hand basting is, which made my life much easier.

Treba da navedem i 3 stvari koje priželjkujem. Hmmm... da vidimo...

I need to name a wishlist with 3 items. Hmmm... let's see....

An overlock - this machine would make me very happy. As much as I love my Visnja, she has her limitations, including inability to sew stretch and knit fabrics. Hence, even though I'm rather an experienced sewist, I have no clue how to sew knits.
  • Soba za šivenje - huuuh koliko maštam o tome! Trenutno živim u relativno malom stanu, šijem u trpezariji, materijale čuvam u bratovljevoj sobi, a krojeve u dnevnoj sobi.

A sewing room - huuuh, how much I dream of it! Currently, I'm living in a rather small apartment; I sew in a dining room, I keep my fabric stash in my brother's room and use a living room for ironing and pressing. Wherever I look, I leave mess behind me, which annoys my family a lot.

To live in Barcelona, Spain... Ever since i visited the city for the first time, back in 2006, I was so impressed I wanted to stay there forever. Since then, I visited it 3 more times, learned Spanish, made some friends there and I am convinced it is my dream town.

Miki mi je postavila još par pitanja:

Miki asked me a few more questions:

When did you start practicing your hobbies?
I've been sewing forever - I started with dolls, and when I was 15 I started making clothes for myself. I learned to knit when I was 6, to embroider at the age of 8 (I don't practice the later 2 hobbies a lot, since I'm too impatient for them).
  2. Gde ste rođeni a gde živite?
    Od rođenja živim u Beogradu.

Where were you born and where do you live?
I was born and raised in Belgrade, Serbia, and I've been living here ever since.

    What is your current occupation?
I am a software engineer, and I'm working as a programmer.

Would you like to make your hobby a regular job?
I partially did it when I started writing for Sew News magazine. And yes, I'd definitely love to make sewing (or some derivation of it) a regular job.

Do you have a job at the moment, and if so, where do you work?
Yes I do, I'm working in a minor firm that produces medical equipment (for the privacy reasons I'm not going to reveal which firm it is).

Are you a member of some society?
    No.

Are you satisfied with your profession?
Partially, I miss contact with people (the programmer job can be rather lonely).

    Recommend a book.
Atlantida, by Serbian writer Borislav Pekic
  9. Šta najradije posećujete na internetu?
    Blogove o šivenju :)

What's your favorite read on the internet?
    Blogs about sewing :)
  10. Da li ste udati /oženjeni i imate li dece?
    Ne.

Are you married and do you have kids?
    No.
  11. Da li sam bila preterano radoznala?
    Samo malo :)

    Was I too curious?
    A bit :)

And here's the list of blogs I'm passing the awards and the challenge to. I'm leaving to them to write something about themselves, that's not related to their hobbies:

Novi izazov u kojem ću učestvovati / A new challenge I'm gonna take

Tili sa bloga Tilly and the Buttons organizuje zanimljiv izazov pod nazivom Jedna nedelja, jedan kroj.

Tilly of Tilly and the Buttons is organizing an interesting challenge named One week one pattern. The idea is to wear each day, during a period of one week, a garment made from a single pattern. The goal is to show our favorite patterns that we keep making over and over again. In my case, it's very easy: I've already written about my favorite blouse pattern from BWOF 1/2008, #108, that I've used more than 10 times to make the most different blousest.
So, during the period from 24.03. to 30.03. I'm gonna wear each day one of the blouses made after the named pattern. I can't wait to see what other participants are going to wear!
If you want to join the challenge, you can apply via Tilly's blog.
